Difference between YX3 high efficiency motor and YE2 high efficiency motor

Issuing time:2019-10-14 16:26

YX3 high efficiency motor is the first high efficiency motor with cold-rolled silicon steel as magnetic conductivity material in China. It is designed and developed on the basis of Y3 motor. Y3 motor is the first common motor designed with cold-rolled silicon steel as magnetic conductivity material in China, and it is the national product of "replacing heat with cold".

The YX3 motor was designed in 2003 and approved by the Mechanical Federation Organization in September 2005. The main performance indicators are in line with GB/T18613-2002 version of the level 2 energy efficiency standard -- energy saving evaluation value. It also meets the European EFF1 index requirements. Later GB/T18613-2006 version of the energy evaluation value, can also be achieved. In its detection method, the stray loss of the motor is calculated by 0.5% of the input power, and the design is based on this to calculate the electromagnetic data. Before 2008, all domestic motor manufacturers used YX3 motors except for joint venture brands when they applied for level-2 energy efficiency filing and energy saving product certification. Therefore, as a high efficiency motor, YX3 motor is widely known in China.

In 2008, IEC and NEMA of the United States negotiated to unify the indicators and testing methods of high-efficiency motors, and developed new energy efficiency indicators and testing methods. The biggest difference is that the index value of the high-efficiency motor, IE2 value, is reduced, but the detection method of the motor adopts the low-uncertainty detection method, and the biggest difference is that the stray loss of the motor adopts the measured method. This is different from the design of YX3, which is faced with index adjustment, and there is no motor corresponding to IE3 index in China.

Therefore, in 2009, Shanghai Institute of Electrical Science organized dozens of motor factories in the motor industry such as Wannan Motor to jointly design motors in line with IE2 and IE3 indicators. On the basis of YX3 high efficiency motor, part of the design of IE2 motor is adjusted to meet the requirements of IE2 index and detection method, and it is named YE2 series high efficiency motor. This series design was certified by the Machinery Industry Federation Organization in 2011. There was no reference sample for the motor that met IE3 index in China, only NEMA ultra-high efficiency series, and a few manufacturers were making them. Therefore, on this basis, we developed domestic motor that met IE3 requirements, named YE3 series ultra-high efficiency motor, and this work ended in 2013.

In the later revised GB/T18613-2012 edition, IE2 index was taken as the basic energy efficiency limit value, that is, the level 3 energy efficiency index, and IE3 index was taken as the energy efficiency evaluation value, that is, the level 2 energy efficiency index. That means the YX3 series can be tweaked to meet the new level 3 energy efficiency target, whereas the YE2 is designed to be highly efficient according to IE2 requirements. In the new standard, although the index value of YX3 is slightly higher than that of YE2 motor, the detection method is different. In many specifications, the performance of YX3 is similar to that of YE2 motor, which belongs to the new level 3 energy efficiency. These two series of motor, in the new national standard, is not efficient motor. At present,Y and Y2 motors have been eliminated in China, but people still say that YX3 and YE2 are efficient motors.
